Student well-being and skill-building are the foundation for this 3-week literacy and numeracy intervention program. 

  • Purpose: 
    To strengthen literacy and numeracy skills, support social development, and provide engaging learning experiences for students. 

  • Course Focus: 
    These courses are designed for students who received Emerging or Developing proficiency on their first and/or second term report cards. 

  • Program Intent: 
    These are remedial, intervention-focused courses intended to help students reinforce key skills before entering the next grade. Learning activities will revisit and extend concepts already taught during the school year. 

  • Course Availability
    Admin, Teachers and parents may recommend registration for one course only. If a course is full, no secondary option will be available. 

  • Sites: Clearbrook Elementary, Godson Elementary, Colleen and Gordie Howe Middle School. 

Structure: Students are grouped in combined grades and are enrolled in the same grade they have just completed to reinforce knowledge.

Foundational numeracy 

DPA - Daily outdoor and play‑based experiences 

Social connection and confidence‑building 

As a culmination of the Summer School Program, each school site will provide parents with the opportunity to take part in a celebration or demonstration of learning.

  • Dates: Monday, June 29th - Thursday, July 16th, 2026

    Week 1: Monday, June 29th to Friday, July 3rd- No school Wed, July 1st (Canada Day)

    Week 2: Monday, July 6th to Thursday, July 9th

    Week 3: Monday, July 13th to Thursday, July 16th 

  • Times: 8:15am-12:15pm (Grades K - 5) / 8:30am -12:30pm (Grades 6 - 8)

 

LOCATIONS:  Clearbrook Elementary, Godson Elementary and Colleen and Gordie Howe Middle School

IMPORTANT: If your child is registered but does not attend the first day, their spot may be forfeited.
 

What You Need to Know

Summer Explorers will continue to be funded by the Ministry of Education free of charge to families. NO DEPOSIT will be collected this year. However, a child referred for Enhancement Summer School should be available for the entire 3-week, 12-day program. Students who can not attend all 12 days will not be registered.

You will be contacted by phone or email during the month of June when confirmation of your selection is approved based on spaces available
